Departing Moorabbin at 8.00am, fly over the heads of Port Phillip Bay and south to King Island, 250km off the north-west coast of Tasmania.
Local hosts, chef and tour guides, Ian and Lucinda, will meet you in a purpose-built 4WD vehicle to share their knowledge of the flora, history and, most importantly, produce of King Island.
A short drive takes you to one of King Island’s most beautiful beaches for morning tea watching the waves rolling in. Wander around the coastline to forage for garnishes for lunch.
Then, the highlight of the day, a taste of King Island at the wonderful Wild Harvest restaurant. Ocean to table, paddock to plate, the Wild Harvest menu focuses on local, seasonal delicacies. Chef Ian will introduce each course of the indulgent five course feast with matched wines,.
One final stop before flying home is at the iconic King Island Dairy to sample some cheese (if you can fit it in!) and make a purchase to bring a little bit of King Island back home. Arrive back in Melbourne around 5.30pm
