Amazing way to travel
"What a brilliant experience both in the air and on the ground! Flying in an aircraft like this at about 7-8,000 ft and 340 km/hour was a whole new way to experience the vastness of the Australian Outback. Destinations very well chosen as were the ground excursions & accommodation. Very informative and fast-paced three days. Learnt so much about this part of our great country. Easy to see why travelling with Australian Air Safaris could become addictive"

Itinerary: Stories on the Silos

Depart Moorabbin Airport at 8:45 am aboard our Grand Caravan, flying over the Yarra Ranges and skirting the shimmering edge of Lake Eildon — a rare aerial perspective of Victoria’s rolling High Country.

Touch down at Benalla and meet your local guide to begin the North-East silo art trail. Visit the painted silos at Goorambat, home to Jimmy Dvate’s “Barking Owl” and Clydesdale mural; Devenish, with Cam Scale’s towering tribute to wartime service; Tungamah, where Sobrane Simcock’s 2018 work features dancing brolgas and regional fauna; and Katamatite, where Tim Bowtell’s 2023 mural honours Indigenous heritage and the Broken-Boosey landscape.

After the trail, journey to Rutherglen for your wine-region experience at All Saints Estate. Enjoy a seated tasting followed by a two-course lunch in the historic setting of one of Australia’s oldest wineries, complete with its castle-like architecture and tranquil Murray River views.

Mid-afternoon, travel south to Glenrowan, site of the 1880 siege of the Ned Kelly Gang. Wander the heritage precinct or relax over afternoon tea in the town steeped in bushranger legend. Reboard the aircraft for your return flight to Moorabbin, arriving at about 5.45 pm — a day shaped by art, history, fine wine and the stories of regional Victoria.
