Outback adventure

"The 3 day trip, Taste Of The Outback may sound short, but we packed a lot in. I loved it. The company, the plane, the outback. To be in Birdsville on day one, after visiting the area where Burke and Wills explored and died was amazing. We had a small group of six, which was great and very cosy. The best parts were walking on Lake Eyre South and seeing water in the north of the Lake. Visited a million acre cattle station, which was an eyeopener and then got to Arkaroola in the Flinders Ranges and explored there by 4WD. I can't say enough good things about this trip"

Tour Itinerary: Seafood Lovers’ Weekend

B,L,D: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 1: Melbourne to Port Lincoln (L,D)

Depart Moorabbin Airport at 8:30 am for Port Lincoln, located on South Australia's picturesque Eyre Peninsula.

Upon arrival, meet your local guides, who will be with you for the next three days. Start with a delicious taster lunch during a mini masterclass with Gav Myers from Myers Seafood. The afternoon includes a wharf and town tour of Port Lincoln.

Dinner is at The Line & Label, an award-winning restaurant nestled among the stunning vineyards at Peter Teakle Wines. Enjoy a memorable five-course culinary experience with wine pairing and featuring local produce.

2 nights: Port Lincoln Hotel, Ocean View Balcony Rooms

Day 2: Coffin Bay, Marina Cruise, Seafood Masterclass (B,L,D)

After a leisurely breakfast, visit Boston Bean Coffee Co. for a locally roasted coffee before heading to the coastal village of Coffin Bay. Surrounded by sea and national parks, this scenic spot offers stunning views of Little Douglas Bay and Kellidie Bay. Enjoy a town tour follow by lunch at Oyster HQ, with fresh Coffin Bay Oysters on the deck overlooking the pristine bay.

Explore Coffin Bay's waterways with an oyster farm tour and cruise. Learn about the oyster growing process and taste fresh oysters straight from the rack.

In the late afternoon, embark on a quiet, ecofriendly cruise aboard the Tesla, exploring Port Lincoln’s tranquil waterways and Australia’s largest commercial fishing fleet.

Disembark at the private pontoon of chef Kris Bunder. In his waterfront home, enjoy a private seafood masterclass and dinner, showcasing his culinary expertise in a gorgeous setting.

Day 3: Port Lincoln to Melbourne (B,L)

Begin with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, then take in the spectacular views from Winter Hill, where you can see the city, bay, and Coffin Bay on clear days.

Visit the first purpose-built purse seine fishing boat, "The Tacoma", and learn about its rich history. Try your hand at pole tuna fishing with a replica tuna.

For lunch, savour Eyre Peninsula tasting platters at the award-winning Del Giornos Restaurant, overlooking beautiful Boston Bay. With Kris Bunder as your chef, expect a delightful array of seafood and local produce, a perfect end to your weekend of seafood indulgence.

Depart Port Lincoln in the mid-afternoon, arriving back at Moorabbin Airport around 7:30 pm.
