King Island, Bass Strait
King Island is situated in Bass Strait, between Victoria and Tasmania and only a 50-minute flight from either state. The only way you can get to King Island is by plane, but don’t let this stop you from experiencing the peace and quiet of Island life, where the local ‘wave’ as you go by is a way of life, and the only traffic delays you will come across are wallabies and turkeys.
Surrounded by some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, King Island has two new golf courses in Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham which are ran.
King Island is also famous for food exports with a range of produce being sought by the world’s top chefs. Succulent beef, rich gourmet cheese at the acclaimed King Island Dairy, and crayfish plucked from the Island’s crystal clear waters are but three of the delicacies you can enjoy on your visit.
See King Island's tourism information website for travel information. Various accommodation options are available. King Island Holiday Village for hotel rooms and an exceptional restaurant, Wild Harvest, and luxury houses of varying sizes to suit your group.
